COMMONS!COMMONS! is a young tool, and our approach to data is still evolving. This page exists so you always know exactly what happens with what you put in — updated honestly as the answer changes, not polished to sound more finished than it is.
Your day-to-day work inside COMMONS!COMMONS! — your scores, your notes, your in-progress answers — is saved locally, in your own browser. It is not copied to a central server or database. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, that work doesn't travel with you yet — a known limitation, not a hidden one.
Some parts of COMMONS!COMMONS! use an external AI provider to do real work: reading an uploaded strategy document or your public website, and generating project suggestions in the Imagine chapter. Whatever you provide for that purpose is sent to that provider for processing, and their own data-handling terms apply to it, not ours alone. This is part of why you can point the tool to just your public website instead of an internal document — a website is already public, so sending it carries less exposure than an internal strategy document would.
We're actively developing a clearer, more complete approach to data storage and protection, including formal data governance, as the team behind COMMONS!COMMONS! grows.
